How the Crestimate works
The Crestimate is an automated, data-driven estimate of an animal's market value. It is not an appraisal and should be treated as a directional benchmark, not a quote.
What goes in
- Species, breed, sex, age, and location from the animal profile.
- Recent comparable sales from public auction data within the last 12 months.
- Optional context like registration, conformation photos, and pedigree improves accuracy.
How it's generated
Four independent valuation models analyze the input in parallel. A senior reviewer model then reconciles their outputs into a single pinpoint estimate, an expected range, and a confidence rating.
Confidence ratings
- High
- Strong agreement across models with ample comparable sales.
- Moderate
- Reasonable agreement; some inputs are missing or comps are sparse.
- Low
- Limited data, wide range, or model disagreement.
- Insufficient
- Not enough data for a reliable valuation. The estimate is directional only.
Privacy
The full Crestimate (including reasoning and comparable sales) is only ever visible to the animal's owners and team. Non-owners see a compact summary only when the owner explicitly opts in via the "Display publicly" toggle.
Crestimate is provided as-is, without warranty. It does not constitute an offer, recommendation, or appraisal.
