Caramel Creek Select Alpacas & Pacadoodles raises alpacas in Eolia, MO, Pike County and the St. Louis area. April Chestnut has been working with registered alpacas for more than a decade under Alpaca Owners Association guidelines, including routine health testing and genetic evaluation. The farm’s pastures stretch across gently rolling fields, offering the herd fresh grazing and sheltered pens for seasonal weather.

Daily handling and early cria socialization help the animals develop calm temperaments, and visitors often note their gentle presence. A small-scale fleece studio on site showcases chestnut, white and speckled fibers from each harvest, reflecting a focus on sustainable practices. Each alpaca follows a tailored nutrition plan, and chestnut-hued fleeces from the farm are prized by local fiber artists for their softness and consistency. Spring shearing and regular hoof trimming keep the herd comfortable and support consistent fleece growth throughout the seasons.
