Carrageen Suri Alpacas LLC, alpacas, Gray, Maine, is located on the scenic Maine coast near Portland. It focuses on suri alpacas with fine fleece characteristics and has been involved in breeding and raising alpacas on its homestead since 2008. As members of the Alpaca Owners Association, the farm adheres to strict health screening, biosecurity measures, and regular veterinary care. Founded by John Furman and Carol Furman, the working farm maintains a small herd size to ensure individual attention and consistent quality.

Each alpaca lives on rotating outdoor pastures that support nutritional needs and healthy social interaction. Breeding pairs are carefully matched based on fleece density, structure and temperament, and all crias receive daily handling to foster calm temperaments. Its approach ensures well-adjusted animals suited for fiber production and exhibition. Rolling fields and shelter barns protect the herd in all seasons.
