Cloward Farm

Cloward Farm raises Scottish Highland cattle in Big Bear, CA, in San Bernardino County and the Inland Empire near San Bernardino. Since its founding over a decade ago, the farm has followed standards of national breed associations and maintained regular health screenings for genetic conditions.

Cattle graze on open mountain pastures year-round and are socialized from a young age to encourage steady temperament and herd cohesion. Owner Kevin Cloward draws on family traditions to refine bloodlines for hardiness and a calm disposition suited to the region’s climate. Calves receive hands-on attention from birth, ensuring early social bonds and easier integration into the herd.

Their thick double coat and signature wide-set horns help the herd thrive through snowy winters and sunlit summers in the mountains. Many small-scale ranchers appreciate their approachable nature and adaptability to rough terrain across the highland environment.
