Deer Creek Farm is home to fainting (myotonic) goats in Chetopa, KS, serving Labette County and the Ozarks near Joplin. Owner Kathy Easley has been breeding fainting (myotonic) goats for several years, adhering to industry health testing standards and maintaining American Dairy Goat Association registration. Each breeding doe is evaluated for conformation and overall health, with DNA screening for the myotonic gene to support stable bloodlines.

The herd roams mixed-grass pastures with regular rotation and supervised kid socialization, and each goat receives daily handling to build trust and resilience. On weekends the goats join light trail walks around the homestead, helping develop their surefootedness and calm temperament. The farm began as a small homestead project and has grown organically with an emphasis on preserving heritage characteristics of the breed. Many visitors note the gentle curiosity of the youngsters and the farm’s relaxed pace, reflecting a commitment to sustainable, small-scale farming.
