Good & Able Farmstead breeds Tunis sheep in Athens, TX in East Texas near Tyler. Melissa and Sean Hardy have been raising tunis sheep for over a decade and maintain memberships in the American Tunis Sheep Registry.

Their flock undergoes regular health screenings, including annual fecal checks and body condition scoring, to ensure strong animals and support breeding goals. Lambs socialize in mixed-age pasture groups and have constant access to cedar-lined barns for shelter and climate comfort.

They operate on a family-run pasture spanning gently rolling acres, balancing rotational grazing to sustain forage quality and soil health. Breeding goals focus on maternal instincts, growth rates, and fleece consistency to serve both homesteads and fiber producers. Several sheep from Good & Able Farmstead have been recognized for fleece weight at the Texas Sheep & Goat Expo. Tours are available by appointment throughout the spring lambing season.
