Happy View Ranch

Happy View Ranch raises Shetland sheep in Oakland, OR, in Douglas County and the Umpqua Valley near Roseburg. Owned by Cindy Bright, the ranch has been breeding sheep for more than a decade with oversight from national breed organizations and routine health screenings for every lamb. Herds are kept on rolling pastures where they graze on a mix of grasses and legumes. A timber-frame barn provides shelter during wet weather and winter months.

Each lamb spends its early weeks alongside its mother and other sheep in a family herd to promote natural behaviors and gentle handling. The ranch also has a small fiber studio where wool is skirted and graded before heading to local artisans. Visitors often note the calm temperament of the sheep and the attention to pasture health. This balance of traditional care and modern health practices is central to Happy View Ranch's approach.
