Midnight Mini Cattle Company
Midnight Mini Cattle Company raises miniature Highland, Belted Galloway, Western Heritage and Whitepark cross cattle in Elkland, MO, in Webster County and the Missouri Ozarks near Springfield. The small farm works to produce a wide variety of unique crossbred miniature cattle, and its herd includes micro, miniature and midsize animals.
The company groups miniature cattle into three classes by hip height at 3 years of age. Midsize miniatures measure from 43 to 48 inches, standard minis from 37 to 42 inches, and micro minis 36 inches or under. Calves are raised on the farm each year, and the herd grows with each new season.
Several other species are also available in small numbers through the year, including miniature donkeys, miniature horses, Babydoll sheep and Nigerian dwarf goats. Cattle have long been part of rural life in this part of southwest Missouri, where open pasture and farm country stretch across the Ozarks. Midnight Mini Cattle Company carries on that tradition on a smaller scale from its home in Elkland.
