Wrenwood

Wrenwood raises Shetland sheep in Ewing, Missouri, Lewis County in northeast Missouri near Hannibal. Janet and Ed Watson have been breeding this heritage breed for more than a decade and are active members of the North American Shetland Sheep Association, with annual health screenings on the flock. The farm remains family-run, with the Watsons personally overseeing daily care, breeding schedules, and pasture maintenance.

Their flock grazes on lush rotating pastures and lambs receive daily socialization to ensure friendly, well-adjusted animals. The couple maintains small group sizes to monitor each animal’s well-being and is known locally for fleece that shows the breed’s distinctive true fine crimp. Several lambs have placed in local county and regional agricultural fairs, reflecting the breed’s strong conformation. Wrenwood’s focus on responsible breeding, ethical husbandry, and sustainable fiber production supports genetic diversity for small farms, fiber artists, and local artisans.
