Grumpy Goat

Grumpy Goat, Pygora goats, New Bremen, Ohio, serves Auglaize County in northwest Ohio near Dayton. Brette Soucie and Matt Henschen are experienced breeders with more than a decade raising Pygora goats under American Goat Society guidelines and emphasis on fiber quality. They maintain a pasture-based setup with daily hands-on care, socializing the herd among family and other livestock.

Our Pygora goats undergo health testing for foot rot and parasites and are registered, reflecting a focus on well-being and genetic diversity. The farm’s blend of farm heritage and a small-scale approach fosters calm, friendly animals known for soft fleeces and adaptable temperaments.

A recent review highlights the consistency of fleece fineness and appreciates the openness around breeding records and daily routines. Their farmstead features shaded shelters, well-drained paddocks and a rotational grazing plan that supports healthy pastures and animal comfort year-round. The herd is routinely evaluated for conformation and goat milk quality traits.
