Agabiformius lentus
Agabiformius lentus
Agabiformius lentus is a small woodlouse of Mediterranean origin that has spread to other regions, including heated greenhouses. Adults have an arched, brownish body with faint darker lengthwise stripes and small bumps. It is maintained in specialist isopod cultures as a decomposer. Leaf litter, decaying plant material and a sheltered moist area support captive colonies. Females protect eggs and developing young in a pouch beneath the body, releasing small live young.
