American Green Treefrog
Dryophytes cinereus
A familiar frog of the southeastern United States, this species has smooth green skin, long legs and a pale stripe along each side. Small gold spots may appear on the back. Hobby keepers provide secure, ventilated terrariums with branches, broad leaves, a shallow clean water dish and supplemented insect prey. It lays eggs in water and has aquatic tadpoles. The narrow body and long pale side stripe distinguish it from the larger, heavier Australian tree frogs.
