Cameroon Crab Spider
Barylestis scutatus
The Cameroon crab spider is a large huntsman spider recorded from Cameroon. Despite its hobby name, it belongs to the huntsman family rather than the flower crab spiders. Its wide, sideways legs have striking yellow and dark bands. Specialist keepers provide secure, ventilated climbing space, bark retreats and moisture-retaining substrate. Feed suitably sized insects and avoid handling this very fast hunter. Females lay eggs in silk sacs.
