Boettger's Colombian Treefrog
Dendropsophus columbianus
This small treefrog lives in the Colombian Andes and has been maintained and bred in research collections. Its brown to yellowish coloring varies, helping it blend into vegetation around ponds. Keepers provide planted, humid enclosures and a varied diet of small invertebrates, with water for reproduction and tadpole development. It lays eggs and has produced viable clutches in captivity. Its Colombian range and scientific name help distinguish it from similar small South American treefrogs.
