Bolivian Roach
Blaberus boliviensis
The Bolivian roach is a broad-bodied Blaberus from Bolivia. Adults usually have deep brown wings and a large dark mark on the head shield, sometimes with two reddish spots. Specialist keepers breed it on sheltered organic substrate with ventilation and varied food. Females retain an egg case internally and release live young. Captive strains have sometimes been mixed with discoid roaches, so reliable breeding history is more useful than color alone when choosing stock.
