Brazilian Giant Blonde Tarantula
Nhandu tripepii
The Brazilian giant blonde tarantula is a large, shaggy species from northern Brazil. Long straw-colored to reddish-blonde hairs give adult females a fluffy appearance, with much fainter leg bands than the black-and-white Nhandu species. Formerly sold as Nhandu vulpinus, it is now recognized as N.
tripepii. Hobbyists house it in a secure terrestrial enclosure with deep substrate, a hide and water. Its abdominal hairs can irritate skin and eyes; avoid handling and excessive disturbance. Females lay eggs in a silk sac.
