Cameroon Brown Baboon Tarantula
Hysterocrates crassipes
The Cameroon brown baboon tarantula is an African species recorded from Cameroon. The described female is grayish yellow-brown, with long, thick hind legs. Brown Hysterocrates can be difficult to identify, so retain breeder and locality records. A secure, ventilated ground-level enclosure should provide deep substrate, a sheltered retreat and drinking water. Feed appropriately sized insects and avoid handling. Like other tarantulas, females lay eggs in a silk sac.
