Minskin
The Minskin is a small experimental breed developed in Massachusetts from Munchkin, Sphynx, Burmese, and Devon Rex influences. Its intended look combines short legs with sparse coat, often with denser fur on the points such as the face, ears, legs, and tail. The body is low and compact, but the breed should still move freely and show ordinary cat balance. Because the Minskin is recent and not universally recognized, standards and breeding practices vary.
Minskin care blends dwarf-cat management with skin and coat attention. Short legs make weight control, easy access to resting spots, and mobility checks important, while sparse coats can require wiping, bathing, warmth, and sun protection. Breeders should clearly explain which traits a kitten has inherited and what health screening supports the line. Owners should not assume that a low, nearly hairless cat is low-maintenance; temperature comfort, skin oil, nail care, and gentle handling are part of daily life with this breed type.
