Minuet
The Minuet, formerly known as the Napoleon, is a breed developed from Persian-family cats and Munchkins. It combines a rounded head, expressive eyes, and plush coat influence from Persian and Exotic lines with either short or standard leg length, depending on the kitten. Both longhaired and shorthaired Minuets occur, and the breed is often bred for a sweet, compact look without requiring the most extreme Persian face. Registry acceptance and naming history can vary by organization.
Minuet owners should be ready for coat care and structural awareness. Longhaired cats need regular combing, while shorthaired cats still benefit from brushing and eye-area checks. Short-legged Minuets need sensible furniture access and weight management, and all Minuets should be selected for comfortable breathing, clear eyes, and sound movement. Breeders should be transparent about Persian-line health screening, dwarfism inheritance, and whether a kitten is short-legged or long-legged. The breed works best when the rounded look is balanced with everyday comfort.
