Raas
The Raas cat is a rare Indonesian island cat associated with Raas Island near Madura. Local accounts often describe blue-gray cats, sometimes called busok, along with other colors such as cinnamon or brown-toned cats depending on the population described. The breed or landrace is not widely established in international registries, and much of its importance comes from regional identity, isolation, and local preservation interest rather than a global show standard.
Because Raas cats are scarce outside their home region, claims should be handled carefully. A blue domestic cat elsewhere is not automatically a Raas, and export history or local documentation matters. Conservation-minded breeding should protect the island population from careless outcrossing, over-commercialization, or loss of local type. For owners, care is normal domestic cat care with attention to stress, diet transition, and veterinary screening if a cat has moved from a local environment into a household or breeding program. Honest provenance is the key practical detail.
