Russian White
Russian White cats are white-coated cats developed from Russian Blue type in several breeding programs, especially lines that kept the same refined body, green eyes, and dense short coat without the blue-gray color. Recognition varies by registry, and some cats sold under the name may be informal Russian-type whites rather than members of a closed breed program. A useful description needs to explain both the Russian Blue relationship and the uneven formal status of the white variety.
Care is similar to other fine-coated indoor cats, with light grooming, stable routines, and attention to hearing risk in white cats when blue eyes or uncertain ancestry are present. Breeders need clear color and parentage records because white can hide other coat genetics. Buyers should look for transparent registration, hearing information where relevant, and a calm, well-socialized kitten rather than choosing on color alone. Temperament and body type should come from the line being bred, not from the assumption that every white shorthaired cat is Russian White.
