Snowshoe
Snowshoe cats are a pointed, blue-eyed breed developed from Siamese and American Shorthair influence. They are recognized by white feet, white facial markings, and a moderate body that gives more substance than many very fine modern Siamese lines. The pattern can include seal point and white, blue point and white, mitted markings, or a neat inverted V on the face, but exact symmetry is difficult to produce. Kittens usually darken as they mature, so early color can be misleading.
Breeding Snowshoes is more complex than simply pairing pointed cats with white feet. The white spotting pattern can vary widely, so breeders track both type and markings while also selecting for sound temperament. In the home, Snowshoes tend to be interactive and people-aware, with enough voice and curiosity to need play, companionship, and careful socialization. Coat care is easy, but the breed's connected nature needs a household that wants an involved cat rather than a decorative one.
