Bushuyev
Bushuyev, also spelled Bushuev, is an Uzbek dairy-oriented cattle breed from Central Asia, developed from local cattle with imported dairy influence to produce milk under hot, dry conditions. It is not common outside its home region. Descriptions often note medium-sized cattle with pale gray or white coats, darker pigmentation or markings around the head and body, and a constitution suited to irrigated farms, rough forage, and seasonal heat.
Farm management for Bushuyev cattle centers on reliable water, shade, parasite and tick control, and enough quality forage to support lactation without losing the breed's adaptation. They may be kept by smallholders as dual-purpose cows, supplying milk for the household and calves for meat. Transliterated names and breeding records can vary, so sourcing animals for conservation or research requires careful documentation. As with other regional dairy breeds, heavy crossbreeding may raise short-term yield while eroding heat tolerance and disease resistance.
