Israeli Red
Israeli Red is a less commonly encountered cattle name than Israeli Holstein, generally used for red-coated dairy or dual-purpose cattle developed or tested in Israel from imported red breeds and local breeding programs. Sources do not always describe the same population, so it is safer to treat the name as a regional strain or breeding label unless a specific breeding program is given. Animals may resemble red dairy cattle, red-and-white composites, or smaller dual-purpose cows depending on the ancestry behind a particular herd.
Practical evaluation starts with documentation of parentage, milk or growth performance, calving ease, fertility, and the exact breed mix. In Israel's climate, red cattle need the same heat-abatement infrastructure as other productive cattle, including shade, plentiful water, and active cooling during hot months. Outside source herds, buyers should clarify whether animals are being sold as Israeli Red, red Holsteins, or crossbreds, because management needs and breeding value can differ far more than coat color suggests.
