Mirkadim
Mirkadim, also known as Hasha, is a local cattle type associated with the Munshiganj District of Bangladesh. It is usually discussed as an indigenous village breed rather than as a standardized international show or dairy breed. Animals of this kind are valued for fitting into smallholder systems, where cattle may be expected to provide milk, calves, manure, savings value, and occasional work rather than one narrowly selected output.
Management of Mirkadim cattle is best understood in the context of humid delta farming. Families may rely on rice straw, cut grass, crop byproducts, and careful tethering or small-yard housing, so thriftiness and tolerance of local feed conditions matter. Because documentation can be thin, owners and conservation workers benefit from recording location, body size, coat color, horn shape, calving history, and family lines before crossing decisions blur the remaining local identity.
