Yanhuang
Yanhuang cattle are a modern Chinese beef cattle population, generally described as a composite developed from Chinese yellow cattle with introduced beef genetics. The aim has been to improve growth, muscling, and carcass yield while retaining enough adaptation for local feed resources and climate. Coat color is commonly yellow, red, or brown, and animals tend to be more beef-oriented than the older village draft cattle from which much Chinese yellow cattle breeding began.
Because Yanhuang cattle are not widely established outside China, English-language information and registry access can be limited. Buyers or researchers should confirm the source herd, breeding program, and performance data rather than treating the name as a simple color label. Management usually resembles other improved beef cattle systems: dependable forage, supplemental feed for growing calves or finishing animals, breeding records, and attention to calving ease. The breed is most relevant to farms and breeding projects interested in Chinese-adapted beef genetics rather than a globally standardized pedigree breed.
