Middle East Gold Tarantula
Chaetopelma olivaceum
The Middle East gold tarantula is recorded from Cyprus and Turkey through parts of the Middle East and northeastern Africa. Brown and olive tones vary, so a common name or photograph alone is not reliable identification. Keepers should retain stock history and seek advice suited to its locality. Provide secure, ventilated ground-level housing with substrate, a sheltered retreat and drinking water. Feed appropriately sized insects and avoid handling. Females lay eggs in a silk sac.
