Chinese Fawn Tarantula
Chilobrachys guangxiensis
The Chinese fawn tarantula is a Chinese burrower from Hainan, also recorded under the older name Chilobrachys jingzhao. A taxonomic revision corrected its original Guangxi locality to Hainan. Its subdued brown body lacks the bold abdominal tiger pattern of C. fimbriatus; color alone cannot confirm identity.
Experienced keepers provide secure, ventilated housing with deep, moisture-retaining substrate and drinking water. It builds extensive silk retreats and takes insect prey. Avoid handling. Females lay eggs in a silk sac.
