Moonglow
Moonglow crested gecko is a hobby term for an animal described as nearly white, pale cream, or softly gray with little visible pattern. It is one of the more disputed crested gecko labels. Some geckos sold as moonglow are very light creams, animals photographed while fired down, juveniles that later develop color, or pictures taken under bright lighting. Unlike traits with clearer inheritance and broad breeder agreement, moonglow is not widely treated as a predictable single-gene morph in Correlophus ciliatus.
A moonglow-labeled gecko should be judged by the same standards used for any crested gecko: feeding response, body condition, shed history, and reasonable handling tolerance. Natural-light photos when the animal is fired up and fired down are useful, as are views of adult relatives when available. Breeding for very pale geckos is usually a line-selection project, so offspring may range from cream to tan or gray. Arboreal housing, moderate temperatures, humidity cycles, and a complete prepared diet matter more than the pale label.
