Rear Horned Baboon Tarantula
Ceratogyrus darlingi
The rear horned baboon tarantula is a burrowing species from southern Africa. Adult females have a backward-pointing horn on the carapace, with brown-gray legs and a spotted, barred abdomen. Horn size varies, and mature males have a less developed horn. Experienced keepers provide a secure, ventilated enclosure with deep substrate, a hide and drinking water, allowing some drying between waterings. It can be fast and defensive; avoid handling. Females lay eggs in a suspended silk sac.
