Darth Maul Tarantula
Psalmopoeus victori
The Darth Maul tarantula is a tree-dwelling species from Veracruz, Mexico. Adult females have a green-tinted carapace, black front legs and reddish hairs over the abdomen and rear legs. Mature males become slimmer and more olive colored. Experienced hobbyists use a secure, well-ventilated vertical enclosure with bark tubes, foliage, diggable substrate and drinking water. It moves quickly and can be defensive, so avoid handling. Females lay eggs in a silk sac.
