Davus fasciatus
Davus fasciatus
Davus fasciatus is a small tarantula from Costa Rica and Panama. The familiar trade label Costa Rican tiger rump has often been applied to Davus pentaloris instead; a 2016 revision found that the real D. fasciatus was absent from the pet trade examined. Documented wild adults have greenish leg tones and distinctive abdominal markings.
Retain reliable locality records and seek specialist identification and care advice. Provide secure housing, substrate, shelter and water; avoid handling. Females lay eggs in silk sacs.
