Miniature Fox Terrier
The Miniature Fox Terrier, often called the Mini Foxie in Australia, is a small smooth-coated terrier developed for vermin control and active companionship. It has a light, athletic body, alert ears, a sharp expression, and a practical coat that suits warm climates and busy households. The breed is separate in identity from the Toy Fox Terrier, though people sometimes confuse the names because both are small, lively terriers.
Miniature Fox Terriers need more engagement than their size suggests. They enjoy hunting games, brisk walks, training, and household involvement, but their chase instinct means secure fencing and supervision around small pets are important. Grooming is simple, yet dental care, patella checks, and weight management matter. Good breeders select for confident nerves and sound structure, because a tiny terrier should still be able to move freely and work without fragility.
