Dwarf Pink Leg Tarantula
Kochiana brunnipes
The dwarf pink leg tarantula is a small Brazilian species traded as Kochiana brunnipes. Adults have a black head and upper legs, reddish-brown lower legs and a golden heart-shaped patch on the black abdomen. Its small size calls for an enclosure with carefully secured ventilation gaps and suitably small insect prey.
Provide ground-level housing with substrate, a sheltered retreat and drinking water, while avoiding excessive climbing height. Keep breeder records with the scientific name, because pinkish legs alone do not establish identity. Observe it without handling. Females lay eggs in a silk sac.
