Frilled Tree Frog
Kurixalus appendiculatus
The frilled treefrog is a small, cryptically colored frog associated with wet vegetation and pools in the Philippines. Specialist husbandry follows its natural need for climbing cover, sheltered moist retreats, clean water and small invertebrate prey. It lays eggs, but its detailed breeding biology remains poorly known. Current taxonomy treats many records outside the Philippine core range as unresolved relatives. Rough skin and fringed limb edges distinguish it from smoother small treefrogs.
