Ghana Speckled Millipede
Telodeinopus aoutii
The Ghana speckled millipede is a West African species also kept as the giant olive millipede. Its olive to brown cylindrical body is accompanied by conspicuously pale, dark-marked legs. It climbs readily and is most active around dusk and at night. Captive-bred colonies need deep, moist substrate containing decayed hardwood and leaf litter, good ventilation and secure climbing branches. Fruit and vegetables supplement the decaying plant material. Females deposit eggs in the substrate, where the young develop.
