Stilpnochlora couloniana
The giant katydid is a large green, leaf-mimicking katydid from the Caribbean region. An adult female is bulky, with brown eyes, powerful jumping hindlegs and broad veined wings that extend well beyond the abdomen. Captive-bred colonies need warm, humid but well-ventilated housing with climbing branches and room to molt. They eat fresh leaves such as bramble, oak and rose. Females attach rows of eggs to twigs after roughening the surface.
