Bionda Dell'adamello
Bionda dell'Adamello is an Italian Alpine goat from Val Camonica and nearby valleys in Lombardy, named for the Adamello massif and its blond coat. The name means blonde of Adamello, and the breed has fawn to golden coloring with lighter facial stripes, belly, and lower legs. Many animals have fairly long hair, upright ears, and curved horns, with a mountain dairy build that favors walking and grazing over heavy muscling.
These goats are kept for milk, kids, and landscape use on steep pasture, often moving between valley housing and summer grazing. Milk from Bionda dell'Adamello herds contributes to local cheeses in parts of its home area, including Fatuli in Val Saviore. Practical care centers on good hay through winter, mineral support, dry bedding, and attention to feet after time on wet ground. Conservation-minded breeders pay attention to unrelated matings and true regional type because expanding numbers without losing old mountain character is the challenge.
