Nigora
The Nigora is a small fiber and dairy goat developed by crossing Nigerian Dwarf goats with Angora influence. The goal is a manageable goat that can provide milk while also producing usable fleece, with fiber often described in types that range from mohair-like locks to softer cashmere-like undercoat. Colors and patterns vary widely because the Nigerian Dwarf side contributes a broad palette.
Nigoras need care that covers both dairy and fiber demands. Owners should plan for shearing or combing, fleece cleanliness, shelter that keeps fiber dry, and nutrition that supports lactation without sacrificing coat quality. Breeding decisions can be more complex than in single-purpose goats because udder structure, fiber type, body size, and temperament all matter. Clear records of parentage and fiber category help buyers understand what a young goat may produce as it matures.
