Goitered Gazelle
Gazella subgutturosa
An antelope of Central Asian semidesert and adjacent regions, with a pale belly, dark tail and an enlarged throat in adult males. Males have long dark horns; most females lack horns. Zoo hoofstock teams maintain herds with open ground, shelter and a grazing diet. Females give birth to live calves. This is distinct from Arabian sand gazelle, Gazella marica, which older accounts included under the same species name.
