Goliath Pink Foot Tarantula
Theraphosa apophysis
The Goliath pink foot tarantula is a very large species from Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil. Juveniles have pink feet on all eight legs; adults become predominantly brown, with females remaining notably leggy. Experienced keepers need substantial floor space, deep moisture-retaining substrate, a sheltered burrow and drinking water in a secure, ventilated enclosure. Feed suitable insects and avoid handling or contact with its irritating hairs. Females lay eggs in a silk sac.
