Co Goose
The Co goose is generally treated as a Vietnamese local goose type, with the name linked to domestic geese kept in village and small-farm systems. It is not as widely standardized in English-language breed literature as Chinese or Toulouse geese, so it is safest to describe it as a regional utility goose. Such birds are usually valued for meat, eggs, grazing, and adaptation to warm, humid farm conditions.
Co geese need management suited to tropical and subtropical smallholder settings: shade, clean water, dry resting areas, predator protection, and feed that supplements grazing during poor forage periods. Breeding choices should emphasize hatchability, gosling survival, heat tolerance, and steady growth. If a flock is being conserved or sold under the Co name, source records and photos are important, because local goose labels can overlap with ordinary crossbred domestic geese.
