Lubelska Goose
The Lubelska goose, or Lublin goose, is a Polish regional domestic goose associated with the Lublin area of eastern Poland. It is one of several native Polish goose populations maintained for farm utility and genetic diversity, rather than a modern high-output commercial hybrid. Birds are typically described as medium framed utility geese, often white in organized breeding flocks, with the solid body, orange bill and legs, and grazing ability expected of traditional European farm geese.
Lubelska geese suit pasture-based keeping where they can turn grass, weeds, and grain supplements into table birds and seasonal eggs. Flocks need secure night housing, clean water deep enough for head washing, and sensible breeding groups so ganders do not overwork females. Buyers outside Poland may find the name used inconsistently, so provenance and breeder records are worth checking. Conservation-minded keepers usually select for vigor, fertility, and regional type rather than chasing very large size.
