White Hungarian Goose
The white Hungarian goose is a Hungarian domestic goose type associated with central European farm production. White geese have long been important in Hungary for meat, feathers, eggs, and in some systems fatty liver production, though individual flocks may be bred toward different goals. The plain white color makes the birds recognizable, but the name is most useful when connected to Hungarian source lines and practical production traits.
For keepers, white Hungarian geese need grazing, clean water, dry bedding, and thoughtful feeding before the breeding season. They can fit small farms, heritage collections, or production flocks, but should not be selected only for whiteness. Breeders should look at fertility, hatchability, growth, leg soundness, and temperament. If birds are being preserved as a Hungarian type, source records and separation from other white geese are essential, because many unrelated domestic goose breeds share the same simple color.
