Green Monkey
Chlorocebus sabaeus
The green monkey is a West African monkey with olive-gold fur, a dark bare face, pale facial edging and a long tail. It forages on the ground and in trees, eating fruit and leaves as availability changes. Zoo keepers manage social groups with climbing cover, and females bear live young. US primate-import restrictions apply. This is Chlorocebus sabaeus, distinct from the vervet monkey; 'green monkey' is often used loosely for several related species.
