Himalayan Earth Tiger Tarantula
Haplocosmia himalayana
The Himalayan earth tiger tarantula is a burrowing spider from the Himalayan region. Females have a gray carapace and contrasting leg stripes. It spends much of its time in a silk-lined retreat, so experienced keepers provide a secure, ventilated enclosure with deep, moisture-retaining substrate and drinking water. Do not keep the substrate waterlogged. Offer appropriately sized insects and avoid handling this quick spider. Females lay eggs in a silk sac.
