Angevin

The Angevin was a French regional horse type from Anjou, remembered more as a historic strain than as a common modern breed. It developed in western France in the broad world of coach, cavalry, and saddle horses, with local mares influenced at different times by Thoroughbred, Anglo-Norman, and other improving blood. Like several French provincial types, it eventually became folded into larger national breeding programs and is most often encountered today in historical or pedigree discussions.
