Anglo-Kabarda
The Anglo-Kabarda is a Caucasus mountain horse type created by crossing Kabarda horses with Thoroughbreds to add speed and size while retaining hardiness and surefootedness. The Kabarda foundation brings balance on steep ground, strong hooves, and practical endurance, while Thoroughbred influence can sharpen the outline and improve pace for sport or military use. It is most closely associated with the North Caucasus region and neighboring Russian breeding traditions.
A useful Anglo-Kabarda should still act like a mountain-bred riding horse, not simply a lighter crossbred with a regional name. Riders value them for trekking, endurance, local sport, and work in rough country, where calm footing can matter as much as speed. Breeders usually need to be clear about ancestry and degree of Thoroughbred influence, because too much refinement may reduce the rugged traits that made the original cross worth keeping.
