Hottentotta franzwerneri

Hottentotta franzwerneri is a North African scorpion recorded from Morocco and Algeria. Females are conspicuously hairy, with a dark body, reddish-brown pincer hands and yellow legs; males are much less hairy. It appears in specialist collections. Provide an escape-proof enclosure with shelter, diggable substrate, ventilation and a water source, reflecting its dry-country habitat without leaving it exposed.

Identification matters because related Hottentotta differ in appearance and venom. Avoid handling. Females bear live young.
