Kaiser's Spotted Newt
Neurergus kaiseri
Kaiser's spotted newt comes from a small area of Iran's Zagros Mountains. White patches on a black body, an orange-red back stripe and orange limbs make it unlike the other spotted newts. It lays eggs individually on submerged surfaces. Specialist keepers manage its seasonal use of water and land, with shelters and careful water quality. CITES Appendix I restricts international trade, and US injurious-salamander restrictions also apply. Verified origin is essential.
